MAPmedics is a student-led group established to create opportunities for Māori and Pasifika paramedicine students to connect with one another. It offers undergraduate students the chance to build relationships with graduate MAPmedic students, including EMTs, Paramedics, CCPs, and managers, while also fostering connections with AUT lecturers in a supportive, mana-enhancing environment.

At MAPmedics gatherings, we come together each week to enjoy kai (there’s lots of it!), connect/reconnect through whakawhanaungatanga and whanaungatanga, and support one another, whether that be learning or improving our paramedicine skills or exploring our identity as MAPmedic students. Occasionally, we also like to enjoy playing sports together before a MAPmedics session.
